Restoration of the Bannister Head Littoral Rainforest
The aims of the Mollymook Dunecare group are as follows:
1. Work with Shoalhaven City Council to protect and regenerate the Bannister Head SEPP 26 Littoral rainforest in and around the northern parts of Mollymook Beach.
2. Raise awareness of local residents regarding the biodiversity values of the remnant patch of littoral rainforest.
3. Work with Shoalhaven City Council to educate local households on how they can assist to look after the Littoral Rainforest by minimising negative impacts such as garden waste dumping and growing known invasive/ ‘garden escape’ plants on their properties.
4. Continue to seek further funding from local, state and federal government to employ contractors to control exotic weeds on steep slopes that are too dangerous for volunteers
