The site is situated close to the top of a tributary of Darling Mills Creek.
Most of this tributary has in the past been piped or covered over for development purposes. Above the bushland area in the reserve are several baseball ovals, residential area and Windsor Road. The group is working in Sydney Sandstone Ridge-top Forest which is located in the Sydney Bioregion.
