Bus trip from Corrugated Cafe car park, Peats Ridge
Central Coast growers are invited to travel by bus to an informal farm walk to see and discuss the new irrigation set up at Greater Sydney Local Land Services’ “River Farm”.
The event will be presented by Peter Conasch from Local Land Services who has more than 20 years' experience working in the irrigation industry and providing whole farm advice. He has developed numerous best practice demonstration sites for water-use efficiency in field and greenhouse horticulture.
A representative from Gosford Irrigation will also be present to answer questions.
Topics will include:
• Choosing a suitable irrigation system and/or contractor with consideration to soil test results, rainfall events, etc.
• Irrigation design and why it's important: pumps, filters, mains, and fertigation systems
• Water application for crop water requirements: how much to apply and when, sprinkler types, soil moisture sensors, watering times
• New products including remote control monitoring using cloud based systems
We will be hiring a bus to travel from Peats Ridge to Richmond leaving from the Corrugated Café car park at 9.15 am on Tuesday 5 March. We should be back by around 4.30 pm.
