Pittwater Estuary Care Stage 3
Caring for Careel Creek and wetlands around Careel Bay, Pittwater
A Minigrant and a Community Landcare grant for stage 3 of our Pittwater Estuary Care project from Greater Sydney Local Land Services is providing for more contract bush regeneration and tubestock along Careel Creek and around Careel Bay.
On Saturday May 23 8.30-11.30 you are invited to continue the very successful planting of trees and shrubs along Careel Creek. Pittwater Council is our partner in this project. Come and give us a hand! Tools, morning tea and good company provided. We'll be along the track beside the creek outside the Barrenjoey High School fence. You can walk north from Central Rd east, or south from North Avalon Rd to find us. Phone 0439 409 202 if needed.
Our previous two grants have been a great success, with trees now flowering. The creekline corridor when completed will offer fauna a link of native vegetation between Avalon Dunes and Careel Bay. And it's now a lovely track for humans as well.
