Razorback Landcare works with multiple landowners on properties usually ranging from 5 to 25 acres in the Razorback area to help promote local bushland corridors. Razorback is home to Western Sydney Dry Rainforest, one of the most endangered ecological communities in NSW. The best thing about the group is the social side, where we partake of lunch provided by the host landowner and usually stay on, catching up on all the local gossip, until well into the afternoon.
Razorback Landcare works with multiple landowners on properties usually ranging from 5 to 25 acres in the Razorback area to help promote local bushland corridors. A particular importance is protecting Western Sydney Dry Rainforest, as Razorback is one of the last remaining sites for this plant community.
Work on site typically involves the removal of African Olive and Lantana either by hand pulling, cutting, and painting with Glyphosate or drilling/frilling to inject poison. Planting is also undertaken with plants from Wollondilly Community Nursery.
