Adjungbilly - Save Our Species

The Adjungbilly Creek is unique due to its populations of a number of endangered plants and animals. These include: • Macquarie Perch; • Booroolong Frog; • White Box-Yellow Box-Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodlands; and • Coolac-Tumut Serpentinite Shrubby Woodland

A number of organisations including Landcare, Riverina Local Land Services (LLS), Taronga Zoo, DPI Fisheries and Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) are working with landholders to support the recovery of these iconic species and communities.

Landholders within the catchment will be eligible for funding towards a suite of on- ground works including:

  • Gully revegetation – provision of standard fencing materials, site preparation and revegetation;
  • Reducing stock access to Adjungbilly Creek- through standard fencing materials, site preparation, revegetation and alternative stock water;
  • Undertaking coordinated fox, pig and rabbit control – through the provision of materials including baits, traps, surveillance cameras etc for pest animals;
  • Protecting areas of riparian and terrestrial native vegetation – through the provision of standard fencing materials and understorey plantings; and
  • Re-establishing corridors of riparian and terrestrial native vegetation – through the provision of standard fencing materials, site preparation and revegetation.
