This loop is one of Sydney’s iconic harbour walks through beautiful Sydney Red Gum woodland.
Easy walking, no hills or rough ground with Daniel Smart (bush regenerator) who collects seeds from this area.
STEP and staff from Wahroonga Estate Landcare will lead a walk highlighting the ecological features of this environmental jewel that includes several vegetation communities along Coups Creek. The progress of the extensive bushland restoration projects will be demonstrated.
Professor Andy Baker from UNSW Australia will present the STEP lecture where he will explain how cave stalagmites can tell us about past and present climate. Formed from water dripping into the cave, they contain chemical records of the surface rainfall, and its interactions with the soil and rock.
