Walk: Wild Willoughby

  • When 11 May, 2016 from 09:30 AM to 01:00 PM (Australia/Sydney / UTC1008)
  • Add event to calendar iCal

Length: 5.5 km, ascent 100 m, 3 to 4 hours
Grade: medium
Meet: western end of Willowie Road, Castle Cove (off Neerim Road)

With unspoilt ridge tops, steep north and south facing slopes, gullies and shoreline, the narrow north arm of Castle Cove that projects into Middle Harbour is one of Willoughby’s natural crowning jewels. Sound bushfire management has led to a mosaic of vegetation ages and plant expression along the ridge. The walk covers the diverse vegetation with the beautiful backdrop of Middle Harbour. Mostly on graded track. However part is on poorly defined bush track with steep edges, so hiking boots or shoes with good grip are essential.
