Like minded volunteers helping to improve the environment in the Shire.
In April 1993, Sutherland Shire Council created a position for a permanent Bushcare Officer. Under that officer's direction, a massive response by the community was realised. Since then a further 3 Bushcare Officers have been appointed. At present over 750 active volunteers work in 140 reserves in Sutherland Shire.
