The Landcare Adventure is a two day event held each year in the New England North West. It brings together landholders and community members from across the region. The event is open to all - including non-members of Landcare, town residents, farmers, government agency staff, schools, community groups & Landcare members and is a great networking opportunity for industry professionals and like-minded people alike. Each year, the event showcases farm tours, leading speakers on environmental + land management issues and skills sessions.

The Landcare Adventure is a two day event held each year in the New England North West. It brings together landholders and community members from across the region.

The event is open to all - including non-members of Landcare, town residents, farmers, government agency staff, schools, community groups & Landcare members. Each year, the event showcases farm tours, leading speakers on environmental + land management issues and skills sessions. The 2 days also provide plenty of opportunity to network with like-minded people.

This year the event is being hosted by Tamworth Regional Landcare Association and will showcase some of the best of North West NSW.

Day 1 of the Landcare Adventure will begin with keynote speeches from Ronni Kahn, founder and CEO of OzHarvest and Derek and Kirrily Blomfield, 2014 NSW Farmers of the Year from the Conscious Farmer Grass-fed Beef. The afternoon will bring breakout session with experts from a variety of fields, such as mental health, rural financial counselling, health and fitness, soils and organic farming. There is sure to be something for everyone.

Adventure activities will commence in the afternoon, choose from archery, canoeing, rock climbing or the rope swing, followed by leisure time and then the Landcare Awards dinner. The evening will come to a close around the campfire after being entertained by the Gomeroi Dance Company.

Day 2 of the Adventure will give participants the opportunity to choose from three field trips to participate in.

The Healthy Farms field trip will take participants on site to local properties where they will learn about organic farming, regenerative agriculture, water conservative and much more. The Conscious Farmer Grass-fed Beef and Myall Springs Organic Beef & Lamb are just two of the properties which will welcome visitors on the field trip.

The Healthy Soils field trip will visit a purpose built soil pit on a local property as well as hear from a experts on site on a variety of soil based topics including Agro Forestry / Tree planting / Carbon sequestration, Nitrous Oxide Emissions, Research techniques, harmful effect of excessive NO2 emissions and fertilizer cropping regimes, Pasture: Tropical grasses / legumes, Production and sustainability, Water Use efficiency of Pastures, Bio Char Benefits and carbon sequestration and view a Soil Monolith: Soil Morphology and Agricultural Suitability.

The Healthy People, Culture and Country field trip will visit a variety of culturally significant sites as well as hear from experts about different natural resource management projects within the region. Learn about local culture and people in a natural resource context.
