Upper Lachlan Landcare are proud to present the launch of the National Soils Skills Competition in the Upper Lachlan Region. We will be having a dinner with guest speaker Gerry Gillespie from Resource Recovery at the newly restored Old Coach Stables Restaurant at Cullerin. David Hardwick will also be there to give us an run down on how to get involved in this innovative competition and why..

Guest Speaker - Gerry Gillespie Gerry Gillespie

Gerry Gillespie has over 30 years expertise in the recycling and composting industries. With a strong connection to community organisations in Australia, New Zealand, South-East Asia, the USA, Middle East and UK, Gerry is recognised as an international expert and pioneer in organic waste reprocessing, soil carbon and community engagement and education. Gerry is a consultant for Resource Recovery Australia, who operate award-winning resource recovery parks that create local training and employment within their communities. All Resource Recovery Australia sites operate as a social enterprise, and their team of consultants bring expertise in waste solutions, site design and management and community asset building.  Gerry is also a member of the Zero Waste International Trust based in London. Gerry previously spent 21 years in senior Government positions including the ACT Department of Urban Services and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.

This is a free event for Landcare members and new members are welcome to join on the night at no charge. Non members fee is $25 per head.

We are also welcoming members from Boorowa, Yass Area, Queanbeyan and Goulburn who may be interested in establishing their own competition

This event is part of the Upper Lachlan Landcare "Healthy Soils, Healthy People, Healthy Communities"program and is supported by South East Local Lands Services.
