Southern Tablelands Tree Start Growers Network - Braidwood Native Propagation Workshop

To support our new volunteer growers in the Southern Tablelands Tree Start Growers Network we're hosting two workshops to kick-start our native propagation efforts. The SECOND WORKSHOP will be at Braidwood Life Centre - 10am-1pm Sunday 10 November. Please RSVP for catering purposes.
  • When 10 Nov, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM (Australia/Sydney / UTC1100)
  • Where Braidwood Life Center, 1 Keder St Braidwood NSW
  • Contact Name
  • Contact Phone 0473407079
  • Add event to calendar iCal
These workshops are designed to help growers to set up their kits to raise native seedlings from home, meet other growers in the community, and plant out their seeds (or seedlings if you'd like to try pricking out).
Other community members are most welcome to attend to find out more about the network and lend a helping hand, but we encourage anyone who thinks they could take care of 200 seedlings to send in an EOI to become a volunteer grower with the Southern tablelands Tree Start Grower Network: https://forms.gle/C4rNr1QsSeswWLeX7 or contact Erin at upper.shoalhaven@gmail.com or 0473 407 079.
Local experts Kelly Stubbs from Wagtail Natives Nursery and Lyn Ellis who ran a native nursery in Mongarlowe will be there on the day to answer any questions and provide growing advice.
Please be aware that at these events:
  • We’ll be working outside, so check the forecast and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
  • Disposable gloves and masks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own PPE if preferred.
  • Growing boxes are 575*385*260mm and each grower will receive 4 boxes (or 8 for those who can grow 400 seedlings). Please ensure you have enough vehicle space to take your equipment home. Boxes come with lids and can stack if need be.
  • A light lunch will be provided, but please RSVP with any dietary requirements for catering purposes.
We'd especially like to thank Maria and the team at Braidwood Life Centre for accommodating our workshop, as well as the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife for supporting this activity as part of our Bushfire Recovery Nurseries Grant Project.
