Comenarra Creek Restoration Project Revisit

On the 2nd of May 2017, a planting blitz added 1,500 plants to the length of the Comenarra Creek as part of a restoration project funded by the 25th Anniversary Landcare Grants program. Also as part of this project, rock guard drains were added to the edge of the Comenarra by Ku Ring Gai Council, funded by a seperate Landcare grant. On the 27th of March, a team of eight Wahroonga Waterways Landcare volunteers planted a further 260 plants comprising 32 species to stabilise the steep slopes and close in the edge of the bush  around the new rock guard drains. The drains were also weeded and serviced by removing built up sediment from the sediment traps. The day was finished with sore hands and big smiles as we sat back to admire the good work.  A great day was had by all.
