Want to learn more about bush foods and our indigenous culture while enjoying a delicious brunch? Watershed Landcare would like to invite you to join us for a Bush Tucker Brunch. We have invited Sharon Windsor from Indigiearth to prepare menu of "Modern Australian Native Cuisine" and give us an insight into how Australian native produce was collected, prepared and cooked.

Ms Windsor, a Ngemba Weilwan woman of Western NSW, grew up collecting bush fruits, catching yabbies and eating bush foods in the wild. She will prepare a delicious bush tucker brunch for us and will also give a bush tucker talk, display bush tucker foods and ingredients and discuss traditional ways of hunting, gathering, cooking and bush medicines.

The menu will include:

  • kangaroo and crocodile sausages served with native chutneys
  • grilled bush tomato
  • scrambled eggs with sea blight & samphire
  • native fruit muesli with lemon myrtle yogurt
  • damper with native jams and wattleseed cream

 

Tickets are $20 for Watershed Landcare members and $30 for non-members. Booking are essential and tickets available for purchase from the Central Tablelands Local Land Services Office, 112 Market St, Mudgee.
