A couple of events are coming up over the next few weeks to inform and inspire you about managing our riparian areas through art and science.

The Friends of Putta Bucca Wetlands held their inaugural Photo Competition this year. The winners of the kids, teens and adult photo categories, as well as the children's Logo Design competition, will be announced at the exhibition opening night on Wednesday 16 September at 5:30pm.

The awards presentation and exhibition will be held at the Artisan Cafe, Lewis St. Mudgee. The finalists photos will be showcased from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 27 September so head on down for a coffee and check out the beauty of the wetlands and the amazing photographic talent we have in our region.

As part of the 'Connecting Our Waterways' project, Watershed Landcare will be hosting a workshop on Riparian Processes and Vegetation on Friday 25 September.

Bruce Christie, Senior Land Services Officer with the Central Tablelands LLS, will talk about river processes, erosion and deposition, using vegetation to assist river processes and suitable species for our district.

The workshop will be held at the Straw Bale Shed, Australian Rural Education Centre (AREC) from 9:30am. After morning tea there will be a site visit to help participants put theory into practice.

Attendance is free for Watershed Landcare members and $5 for non-members and includes morning tea. For further information or to RSVP please contact Agness Knapik, Watershed Landcare Coordinator, info@watershedlandcre.com.au or 0435 055 493.

This event is supported by Watershed Landcare through funding from Landcare Australia and the Jaramas Foundation.
