YAN is made up Landcare and Friends of Yass Gorge groups which operate in the Yass Valley region. Our purpose is to facilitate the development of LANDCARE values in the region. We work closely with stakeholders some of which include the Yass Valley Council, South East Local Landcare Services, Rivers of Carbon, Landcare NSW, Landcare Australia, Greening Australia and members of the regional community.
In addition to supporting our Landcare groups YAN arranges field days, workshops, seminars and manages the Yass Habitat Linkages project.
YAN's Climate Ready project is our current focus. We are now at a stage where we can source climate appropriate seed to grow native plants in our four Landcare nurseries. Tubestock is then planted across Landcare member properties. The Climate Ready project enables our Landcare members to act locally and to do something to prepare for a changing climate.
