140 people attended the Truth About Trees seminar and field day in Gunning in March 2017. The event was part of the NSW Environmental Trust's Bushconnect program- Yass Habitat Linkages and was an opportunity to bring the local community together with ecologists, practitioners, private and public managers, and other related service providers to hear from the experts, share local knowledge and have a conversation about addressing the issues around habitat loss, fragmentation and declines in productivity and work out how we, as a Landcare community, can work together to improve this situation.

Following on from the "Truth About Trees" Seminar in Gunning in early 2017 there was a lot of interest in the YAN Landcare community for a visit to Matt Doyles property "Glenryan".(Matt was one of the presenters at the seminar). The Doyles are involved in two of our current projects- Rivers of Carbon- Yass River and the NSW Environmental Trust's Bushconnect program "Yass Habitat Linkages". As part of our Landcare Champions tour for Rivers of Carbon and Yass Habitat Linkages we organised a tour to Glenryan in November for 45 Landcare members. Here is the Doyle Family Story:

Yass, Boorowa and Hovells Creek Landcare communities hosted a forum on 25th May in Yass with over 220 participants to explore how rural communities and farmers can contribute to ameliorating the climate change while benefiting their land.
