Baragoot Swamp car park planting
An unused area, where the road used to exist, is being replanted.
An area of kikuyu, thistle and blackberry has been planted out to improve the biodiversity of a beach side car park and reserve. The area was once a road which was realigned in the 1960's when a bridge was built across Baragoot Swamp. Bega Valley Shire Council has helped with slashing and spraying blackberry. Bermagui Dune Care has removed thistles and planted a variety of endemic species, some grown from seed such as Eucalyptus botyroides (with permission from NPWS and BVSC).
