After successfully running a bee hotel workshop last year for Australian Pollinator Week, Central Tablelands Landcare is continuing to support our pollinators through the running of a workshop on creating a bee forage garden.

Activities on the day include:

  • an introduction to flowers that bees and other pollinators find attractive
  • working out a local bee forage calendar and making sure we can fill the gaps in flowering times
  • planting a section of the ELF Community Garden to establish a display bee forage garden

What to bring:

  • please, as we will be undertaking activities in the garden, wear sturdy footwear, suitable clothing and bring gloves and a sunhat.
  • a plant to add to the bee forage garden at the ELF (eg - exotic flowers – dahlia, daisies, hebe, lavender, marigold, roses, salvia, buddleia, diosma or herbs – basil, borage, mint, parsley, rosemary, sage, thyme)

Central Tablelands Landcare and the ELF Community Gardeners will supply morning tea and some tools to help plant the garden.
