Grazing for the Future
Apply now to join a grazing group in the Central Tablelands - spaces limited. Get your name on the list ASAP.
The aim of our grazing project is to encourage sustainable grazing practices, look into pasture cropping, and promote biodiversity on farms in the Central Tablelands.
Graeme Hand from STIPA and Col Seis from Winona are partners in our project and have agreed to share their time and knowledge with our group over a 12 month period.
We will host the following 4 workshops:
1. Pasture species ID and monitoring (gather baseline information on pasture species)
2. Principles of grazing management – how to monitor pasture growth, stock performance, behavioural aspects
3. Principles of pasture cropping – bus trip to Winona, Gulgong to visit Col Seis on farm
4. Monitoring and reporting on pastures, feedback after 12 months of monitoring, lessons learnt, where to from here.
Places are limited. We are looking for 12-15 people to join the group for the duration. The journey will take us around to different farms so that we can all benefit from each other’s experiences.
Please contact centraltablelandslandcare@gmail.com or call 0416255065 if you want to find out more or are keen to put your name down. There is no cost - just your commitment to share your time and experience with the group.
