Dinner with the Frogs!

Celebrate the season with our annual dinner! If we’re lucky with some rain, we’ll enjoy an evening of great food and company. A short meeting will kick off the event, followed by dinner.

Our landcare group aims to improve the health of the Summer Hill Creek catchment and provide social activities, relating to landcare, for residents and other interested people.

We have a particular focus on replacing willows with native plants along the creek and we have our own propagation group out at the university (Charles Sturt) to help grow the plants.  We also have regular clean up days.

In addition we have educational fiield days, which have included workshops on rabbits, foxes, wetlands creation, eucalypt identification, soil erosion, long-stem planting and other riparian restoration techniques.

We are members of the Central Tablelands Landcare network and have regular interactions with Orange Field Naturalist & Conservation Society, Charles Sturt University staff and students and Daroo Urban Landcare, as well as Orange Dirt Music (local acoustic music club).

Our meetings are generally monthly on the first Tuesday and we have a small, but active committee and are always looking for new members.  There is no requirement to live in the catchment, just a willingness to be part of the community, to help and to learn.
