The aim of the foray is to equip participants with fungus identification skills and the basic principles and protocols for surveying fungi in the field and to build on the data collected from previous surveys. Following an introductory overview, we will work in groups to survey the fungi of the field sites using field guides and other field resources. Morning and afternoon groups will crossover at lunch for a cup of soup.

Once registered you will receive information regarding the session on the day and participant requirements.
Please note only 1 booking is required per family.

There are two sessions for the day:

Workshop cost $10, Book Here for the morning session, Book Here for the afternoon session

Additional Information:

Mycology May, is a collaborative initiative between the Central Tablelands Regional Landcare Network and Local Land Services. Participants will receive detailed information regarding the workshop itinerary, what to bring, and how to prepare closer to the event date. Space is limited, and we encourage early registration to secure your spot in this exciting exploration of fungi.

As we will be in a National Park we are prohibited from collecting or picking any specimens. Helpful items to bring: camera, phone camera, hand lens, small mirror (for looking under fungi), please download the citizen science app on your phone: inaturalist

As we will be going into the field we ask that you wear sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing and a hat for the day, you should bring a warm jacket, beanie, gloves and wet weather gear as the weather on Mount Canobolas can be quite cold, windy and wet....but the fungi love it!

Cancellation Policy:

Life happens, and plans change. If you're unable to attend the workshop after registering, please cancel your registration at your earliest convenience. This allows us to offer your spot to someone on the waitlist and ensures that no opportunity for learning is wasted.
