A fresh, two-pronged approach to community-led cat management across the Central West that will reduce threats to wildlife and build knowledge and skills.

  1. Keeping Cats Safe at Home 

Central West Region Landcare are partnering with the RSPCA NSW’s highly successful Keeping Cats Safe at Home Project to encourage behavioural change and responsible cat carers through educational campaigns around keeping cats indoors as well as desexing and microchipping incentives to reduce unwanted litters.

These Landcare groups will be offering subsidised microchipping and desexing during 2026/27:
