This group has been set up as part of the pilot study into landholder collaboration funded by the NSW Environmental Trust. For further information or help with this group, please contact Alex Baumber alex.baumber@uts.edu.au
The group map below shows the area of the Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala Link (shaded area in purple), as this is the primary focus area of the Glideways project - for more info see: https://k2wpartnership.org/restoring-the-glideways-of-the-k2w-link/
For this trial, we are starting with two main types of data - observations/sightings of gliders and sites of nest boxes. On the map below, sightings are marked by a brown marker with a "G". Rescue sites are marked with a red "R". Nest box sites are marked by a blue marker with an "N".
The small blue markers show glider sightings in and around the K2W area that have been entered into the Atlas of Living Australia database: http://spatial.ala.org.au
Resources on identifying gliders can be found in the "Resources" folder.
Participants in the trial are encouraged to add their own sites. Once you have your log in details, you will be log in and go to the folders for "Glider monitoring/observation sites" or "Nest box sites". Once there, you can add new sites by selecting "Add new" at the left-hand menu and selecting "Map location". Make sure you change the sharing settings to "group" or "public" so that other group members or the general public can see what you've added!
Full details can be found in our user guide: https://landholdercollab.org/landcare-gateway-trial-user-guide/
You can also add photos to the Photo Gallery and even create new folders for new content types like revegetation sites (could be marked using dark green markers with a "R"). This site is for you to play around with so please get in and have a go! All data entered will be able to be exported later for use in other programs (as CSV or KML files).
If you are interested in joining the trial, please contact Alex Baumber alex.baumber@uts.edu.au
