Project BBBB

A partnership project with Little River Landcare group, supported by the EnergyCo Local Community Fund.

Project BBBB (Bats, Birds, Bills and Bears) gives community members in the Dubbo Regional Council area opportunities to connect with, learn more and engage in the world around them.

Over 3.5 years we'll be running:

  • Field Days
  • Workshops
  • Citizen Science activities
  • Bus Trips
  • Youth programs... and more

In 2025 our big focus was on Bats - Microbats and Flying Foxes.

In 2026 we're officially becoming BirdNerds!

From little woodland birds to huge raptors, we'll be looking at ways you can learn more about local birds and how to them thrive into the future. Keep an eye on our homepage and  Facebook page for:

  • Opportunities to get a tailored list of what birds you have on your farm
  • Birds of Prey Citizen Science
  • Bird Photography workshops
  • Local control options for invasive birds like the Indian Myna
  • Birds on Farms Field Days
  • Participate in the Backyard Bird Count
  • Bird-friendly garden design
  • Cats - feral cat control options and tips for keeping urban cats safe at home
  • .... and so much more!

Project BBBB is proudly funded by EnergyCo’s Community and Employment Benefit Program.
