Video showing the creek system.

During the cooler months we spent some time on the creeks recording the area that we are so proud of. The community are proud of their achievements and want to showcase what a healthy working creek system looks like. Community, landholders and visitors love the creek system and visit regularly to witness the seasonal changes and wildlife who choose to make the Yanco Creek System their home. It has endangered species such as trout cod, eel-tailed catfish, southern bell frog and many bird species who visit the wetlands to breed.

As part of a collaborative effort and extensive research, a biological control for Sagittaria, the fruit-feeding weevil, was released in Australia for the first time in Deniliquin in March 2022. This video provides a snapshot of the project and the release day.

Wilsons anabranch is located in the Mundoora area of the Yanco Creek System and runs for 13kms. It is an example of the magnificent wetlands along the Yanco Creek, near Jerilderie.
