11 August 2020 - Sutton School - 7.30pm - The Sutton Landcare Group will hold its Annual General Meeting on 9 February. The official part of the meeting will be followed by a presentation from Elizabeth Goodfellow, from Bookham Landcare, on climate ready vegetation. Elizabeth Goodfellow was the 2017 Bowning-Bookham Districts Landcarer of the Year and was awarded the 2018 Tony Betts Award for Service to Landcare. Since 2018, Elizabeth has been part of Landcare’s Climate-Ready Vegetation and Let’s Try It! teams, as well as coordinating Bowning- Bookham Landcare’s Habitat Hops Project. These projects have given Elizabeth insight into the climate science, what the science means for us locally and, some of the opportunities and challenges we face in adapting to our changing climate. Elizabeth will share insights on what the projected changes to climate are for the Yass Valley, what this may mean for vegetation in our area, and discuss how to adapt our own places and Landcare projects to these changes.
