Want to learn more about bush foods and our indigenous culture while enjoying a delicious brunch? Watershed Landcare would like to invite you to join us for a Bush Tucker Brunch. We have invited Sharon Windsor from Indigiearth to prepare menu of "Modern Australian Native Cuisine" and give us an insight into how Australian native produce was collected, prepared and cooked.

Do you have some native grass seeds to harvest? Watershed Landcare will be hosting a farm walk and Grass Seed Harvester Demonstration on Saturday 20 February. Come along and find out more about native grasses and how you can harvest your own.

Watershed Landcare will be hosting a Farm Walk on Saturday 28 May at Eastwood, Rylstone. The landholders operate a mixed grazing system and are keen to share their next challenge of how to incorporate an undeveloped block of 20 hectares into their system.

The Friends of Putta Bucca Wetlands recently held their inaugural Photo Competition. The finalists photos will be showcased at the Artisan Cafe from Wednesday 16 to Sunday 27 September (please note the cafe is closed Mondays & Tuesdays). Head on down for a coffee and check out the amazing photography talent from our region.

The Mudgee Plant Study Group will be hosting a Grass Identification workshop to help you to become GRASS LITERATE. By understanding ten to dozen key features of a grass, you will be better equipped to identify the many different Australian grasses.

Watershed Landcare will be hosting the 7th annual Green Day environmental expo on Thursday 10th September 2015 at Mudgee Showground. Celebrating the United Nations 2015 Year of the Soil, our theme this year is Digging Deeper, where we’re going to learn everything about soils.

Watershed Landcare is proud to share with you the fun and engaging line-up we’ve developed for our 8th Annual Green Day. Green Day involves 600 Year five and six students from 16 schools around the region coming together to learn about the environment and our community. This year’s theme ‘Healthy Minds, Healthy Environments’, aims to make the link between the health of people, and the health of the environment. It also aims to increase the capacity and resilience of young people in engaging with the environment and their community.

This 2‐day workshop will be hosted by past RIRDC Rural Women of the Year, Catherine Marriott. The Workshop aims to instill confidence & knowledge around social media, teamwork and resilience in your local people. Catherine is a passionate advocates for rural Australia and most importantly, it’s people. This is a must for any person with interest in or around agriculture, community, learning and having a laugh!

Watershed Landcare will once again be at The Mudgee Small Farm Field Days. We will have informative displays, information about our group and projects, kids activities, workshops and, of course, the Watershed Landcare Lecture Series!

This workshop will be an introduction into pasture cropping, looking at principles, practical implementation and the benefits of pasture cropping with multiple species.

A hands-on, practical introduction to native seed collection and germination. The emphasis of the workshop will be introducing people to a few tricks to ensuring a good germination, and doing so at low or no cost in terms of equipment.

Watershed Landcare have invited Agricultural Consultant and Journalist, Robert Freebairn to be our guest speaker on the day. Discussion topics will include ground cover, various pasture types, the logic for each, establishment, management, soil quality and other relevant aspects. Native pastures will be included as well as the role of tropical, annual legumes, Lucerne and winter forage crops.

Come along and meet other gardeners, exchange hints, tips and see what's possible to achieve by busy people in small spaces. This is a great opportunity to share ideas with other gardeners and be inspired by some beautiful, productive gardens in our region.

The Friends of Putta Bucca Wetland would like to invite you to come along and help them with a big Tree Planting Day on Saturday 9 May.

Watershed Landcare will be hosting a workshop on Riparian Processes and Vegetation on Friday 25 September. Topics covered include: river processes, erosion and deposition, using vegetation to assist river processes and suitable species for our district.
