Get your password

If you can't remember your password then you can use the 'lost password' tool to reset it.

Most people have plenty of passwords to remember, so often it is hard to remember the right one for your Landcare Gateway registration.

For security reasons, we store your password encrypted, and cannot mail it to you. If you would like to reset your password, you can use the following process.

If you can remember your username, here's how to get your password reset:

  • look for the login link top right next to the search tool, click on it.
  • click on the Forgot your password? link below the login fields
  • when the Lost Password page shows, type in your username (must be exact), and click on start password reset
  • check the email address you use for the Gateway, and look for a message from the Administrator or Postmaster. This will instruct you on how to reset your password.

 

What if this doesn't work?

There are a few reasons why this might not work;

  • you did not enter the correct email address, which is case sensitive, ie capitals and lower case can change this, eg User, user, USER are all different to the system
  • the email registered to your username - which you supplied when registering - is not the one you checked, or is not current, or had an error. Check all your possible email addresses, and if this is the case, you will have to contact the administrator
  • allow the email system time for the emails to come through. Occasional delays can occur in the system
  • check your email spam or junk folders - as sometimes email software will identify the system email as possible junk.

 

If you can't remember your username

  • If the username does not exist (or you typed it incorrectly) a warning will show - when it does, you will get a note saying password sent
  • If you have changed your email since the last time you used the site, your old email address will still be the username for login.  If you cannot remember your password, and cannot access this email address, use the Contact form to request the administrators to be able to change the email for your account.
